Job: Senior Producer

Double Fine Productions is currently looking for a Senior Producer for its San Francisco development studio to be the Lead Producer on the Psychonauts 2 team. The primary job responsibility is to provide organizational leadership through successful management of people and processes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years experience as a Executive or Senior Producer with at least 3 published console or high-end PC games. This role requires the balance of confidence as a hands-on leader alongside the ability to foster a collaborative environment with other leads and the team as a whole.

A solid understanding of the process of making games, including art, code and design, audio and outsourcing pipelines is essential. Additional key success factors for this role include excellent leadership, written and verbal communication, public speaking, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

- Establish clear, comprehensive and thorough organizational processes, and communicate them to Studio Leads and Publishing partner.
- Define, create and maintain long-term schedules and milestone deliverables. Oversee Production in the creation of Sprint goals and schedules, as well as take on line production responsibilities as appropriate.
- Ensure that project tasks are tracked against all schedules. Identify bottlenecks and risks during production, and mitigate them in order to maintain a consistent work-life balance for the team over the life of the project.
- Collaborate with the Project Lead to champion the product’s creative goals and ensure high quality.
- Identify and resolve conflicts between schedule, budget and design goals.
- Work with the art, design and programming leads to ensure adequate, efficient and effective project staffing and resolve staffing conflicts.
- Manage and mentor Production staff.
- Along with the Art Manager and other Producers, coordinate management of individuals or organizations outside the project in the creation of assets – such as independent contractors, talent, music, sound, voice and video production.
- Coordinate development efforts with publisher’s QA, Marketing, Public Relations, Sales, International and Legal teams to achieve seamless communication and drive consistent quality in project materials. Facilitate the timely and effective delivery of materials required for publication.
- Facilitate and drive team communication.

- Minimum of 5 years production experience with three or more complete development cycles in a Producer, Senior Producer or Executive Producer role.
- Clear understanding of production methodologies and scoping strategies, as well as proven ability to build and maintain full schedules for large scale game projects
- Exceptional and noteworthy organization, communication and management skills.
- Expert knowledge of hardware and software game industry trends.
- Personal commitment to excel as a team player, and a commitment to strive for maximum team/department performance.
- Self-directed, highly organized, meticulous and detail-oriented problem solver with a burning desire to contribute to a uniquely creative environment.
- Demonstrable proficiency working in GSuite, JIRA/Confluence, Excel and Word, among other software programs.
- Strong writing skills, and the ability to communicate the project status, goals, risks, and mitigation strategies to Senior Leadership and other stakeholders
- Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills.
- Strong technical understanding of all disciplines that make up a game development team.
- Team-centric attitude and demonstrated capacity to win respect and forge camaraderie among the individuals on the team.

- A four year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
- A passion for playing and making video games
- Development experience working with the Unreal engine
